Summary

WHAT THE JOB IS
Make a real difference every day. Support young people who have experienced trauma, helping them feel safe, seen and heard. Nights are often when the hardest feelings surface, and a calm, familiar adult being there is what makes the difference.
Support routines, learning and life skills. Help young people wind down and settle into good sleep routines, then set the home up for the morning ahead so the day starts calmly for everyone.
Be a role model and trusted adult. Offer stability through consistency. The young people who struggle most at night need to know the same trusted face will be there, with patience and emotional presence, whenever they need it.
Create a safe, homely environment. Work as part of a supportive team to keep the home safe and settled overnight. Be there for young people who can't sleep or wake distressed, in a home where they feel valued and accepted.
HOURS
Hours average 35 per week FTE, pro rata if part time is considered. The shift pattern runs over several weeks and includes some weekends.
This role requires a full UK manual driving licence and the right to work in the UK.
WHAT WE OFFER
- £3,000 welcome bonus for new care staff, paid in three stages: £1,000 on commencing employment, £1,000 upon passing probation, and £1,000 when you reach 12 months' employment.
- Annual long service bonus. You will receive a £1,000 bonus payment every year after 2 years' service. Employees reaching 5 years' continuous employment receive an annual long service bonus of £1,500 each year.
- A birthday bonus. As a small thank you and recognition of you as an individual, all staff receive an additional £100 birthday bonus.
- Monthly mileage supplement. We know that many of you travel to rural locations and that rising fuel costs can make this more difficult. Staff who travel up to 10 miles to work receive an additional monthly payment of £20. Staff living between 11 and 20 miles from the workplace receive £40 per month, while staff who travel over 20 miles to get to work receive £50 per month.
- Annual Christmas holiday voucher draw. Staff who have been with the company for a minimum of 12 months are entered into a holiday voucher draw. There are 8 vouchers to be won, ranging in value from £1,000 to a whopping £5,000.
