Summary
Masstemps is currently recruiting for an experienced
CNC Machinist to join a well-established and busy manufacturing company based near the
Wednesbury area.
THE ROLE
• Set and operate CNC Milling/Lathe machinery to produce fasteners and components to drawing and job specifications.
• Load programs, set machine offsets and make adjustments to maintain accurate production.
• Select and change tooling, inserts and work holding as required for different jobs.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions and tolerances.
• Carry out first-off and in-process inspections using verniers, micrometres, gauges and other measuring equipment.
• Monitor machine performance and make minor adjustments to maintain quality and consistency.
• Work with a range of materials commonly used in the manufacture of fasteners and engineering components.
• Identify tooling wear, machine issues and quality problems and report them where necessary.
• Complete production paperwork and record inspection results accurately.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area and follow company health and safety procedures.
ABOUT YOU
• Previous experience as a CNC Setter/Operator within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Experience setting and operating CNC machinery, ideally producing small or precision components.
• Able to read and understand engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
• Confident using standard inspection equipment including verniers, micrometres and gauges.
• Good understanding of CNC tooling, offsets and basic machine adjustments.
• Able to work independently from drawings and job specifications.
• Previous experience within fastener, precision engineering, turned parts or high-volume manufacturing would be advantageous.
• Good attention to detail and a consistent approach to quality.
• Comfortable working in a production environment where accuracy and output are important.
HOURS OF WORK
Monday to Thursday 7am till 4.30pm Friday 13:00pm finish (39 Hrs Per Week)
PAY RATE
Up to £14.50ph depending on experience
