Logistics & Materials Operative
An excellent opportunity for an experienced Logistics & Materials Operative to join a busy operational environment, supporting the safe, efficient and compliant movement and disposal of obsolete equipment and materials.
The Role
Collect, move and segregate obsolete equipment into appropriate waste streams, including WEEE, scrap metal, batteries and hazardous materials.
Accurately identify, label and document materials, maintaining movement logs and disposal records.
Prepare loads for collection, including weighing, wrapping, securing and staging.
Follow all H&S procedures, risk assessments, SSOWs and PPE requirements.
Use material-handling equipment such as pallet trucks and trolleys, with forklift use where licensed.
Support stock checks, audits, investigations and wider materials management activities.
Work closely with warehouse, workshop and governance teams, escalating discrepancies or safety concerns appropriately.
Essential
Current accredited FLT/MHE licence (RTITB, ITSSAR, NPORS, AITT or equivalent), valid throughout the assignment.
Previous logistics, warehouse, facilities or engineering support experience.
Practical experience of manual handling and material movement.
Good understanding of safe lifting, handling and workplace H&S.
Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office, email and spreadsheets.
Ability to follow procedures, pick/move lists and risk assessments with excellent attention to detail.
Good communication skills and a collaborative approach.
Desirable: Experience with NEXUS, LN, MJDI or JAMES, although training will be provided.
This is a hands-on role working across office and warehouse environments, requiring regular standing, walking, lifting and use of PPE/MHE.
