Summary

The Insolvency Service is a leading government agency which plays a crucial role in providing essential services to the public and to business. Investigation Services, within the Insolvency Service’s Enforcement Group, delivers civil and criminal enforcement activities that supports fair and open markets, maintains confidence in the company and insolvency regimes, and helps reduce the harm caused by fraudulent activity.

This role sits within the Intelligence Team in Investigation Services. The team supports operational activity by ensuring that intelligence is handled consistently, developed effectively and shared with the right people at the right time.

As an EO Intelligence Officer, you will join the Intelligence Team and help turn information from a range of sources into clear, reliable intelligence that supports operational decisions.

Working across the various intelligence workstreams, you will contribute to a range of intelligence functions and provide a responsive service to internal colleagues and external stakeholders.

This is a varied role for someone who can work carefully with sensitive material, exercise sound judgement and communicate clearly. You will maintain accurate intelligence records, prepare intelligence products, respond to enquiries and work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners.

The role offers an opportunity to build practical intelligence experience while supporting enforcement work that protects the public and business community.

Responsibilities

As an Intelligence Officer, you will:

assess and evaluate information from internal and external sources, considering its reliability, credibility, and relevance in line with intelligence-handling standards
develop information into clear, actionable intelligence products that support operational decision-making
disseminate intelligence to internal teams and external partners in a timely, secure, and appropriate way
maintain accurate intelligence records and databases, ensuring information is recorded and managed in accordance with relevant requirements
respond to intelligence enquiries and provide clear advice and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders
manage competing priorities and deliver accurate work to operational deadlines
identify opportunities to develop intelligence, improve processes, and contribute to wider team initiatives
provide administrative and operational support to senior leaders and the wider intelligence function, contributing to the delivery of the Intelligence Team's objectives
