Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking an exceptional practitioner and leader who shares our ambition for every young person to achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will bring a combination of strong subject knowledge, effective leadership skills and a genuine passion for inspiring students through science.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status and a degree in Science or a related subject.

• Successful experience of teaching Science across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

• A proven ability to deliver high-quality teaching and learning that secures excellent outcomes for students.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents and external partners.

• The ability to motivate, lead and develop a team, fostering collaboration and a shared commitment to excellence.

• Experience of curriculum planning, assessment and monitoring student progress to drive continued improvement.

• A commitment to professional development and the willingness to embrace innovation and new challenges.

• Confidence in the use of technology to support teaching, learning and departmental development.

As Subject Leader, you will be expected to provide strategic direction for the department, lead curriculum development, monitor and improve standards of teaching and learning, and inspire both students and colleagues through your enthusiasm for Science and STEAM education. You will join a successful, forward-thinking department and a supportive leadership team that values collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
