Organisation: Leicestershire County CouncilWork Location: Oakfield School Secondary provision, initially based at SLIP - Leicestershire County Council, Bassett St, South Wigston, Wigston LE18 4PE Salary: £27,717 - £29,076 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) Working Hours: 22.2 hours per week (42 weeks term time)Contract Type: PermanentClosing Date: 9th October 2026Interview Date(s): Monday 19th October 2026 – but may change depending on staff/room availability Oakfield Short Stay School is Leicestershire’s provision for primary and secondary school aged children who are at risk, or who have been permanently excluded from school. You will be part of a vital team in an exciting period of development, working with us to meet the needs of children and young people who struggle to manage in mainstream and need a different offer of education to secure their successful next steps. About the RoleThis role is to ensure the provision of efficient and effective administrative support for the day-to-day operation within our secondary sites, planning and managing your own workload in order to meet deadlines. The role would suit an experienced and suitably qualified person who has experience of using data systems and reports within an education setting, particularly within the Special Education sector. Many of our young people present with challenging behaviour, and we are looking for someone who can demonstrate strong empathy and ability to intrinsically connect with pupils with complex SEMH needs and lead in delivering a service that enables flexible data systems that capture pupils progress against their starting points. An enhanced with barred list DBS check is required for this post.For information on our approach to the recruitment of ex-offenders, please see our policy statement.About YouTo apply for this post, you must be able to evidence in your application how you meet the following criteria:Level 2 qualifications in Maths/Numeracy and English/Literacy. Level 3 qualification in business and administration, or evidence of equivalent experience.Experience of working in a school environment, or similar experience carrying out a range of administrative tasks.Excellent ICT skills, along with the ability to make effective use of a range of ICT software in order to fulfil the requirements of the role.Experience of working in a school office or similar setting, meeting the needs of the service.Ability to work accurately under pressure, managing your own workload in order to meet deadlines.Experience of using information management systems and finance software.Experience using MIS; Management Information Systems and FMS; Finance Management Systems would be beneficial.
