Are you an experienced catering or hospitality leader with a passion for delivering exceptional patient experiences? We are looking for a highly motivated
Patient Services Manager to lead and develop our patient dining service at
Chesterfield Royal Hospital. In this key leadership role, you will oversee a large, diverse team, manage operational and financial performance, and ensure the delivery of safe, high quality catering services that support patient wellbeing. Working closely with the General Manager, clinical stakeholders and wider hospital teams, you will drive service excellence, maintain the highest standards of food safety and compliance, and continuously enhance the patient dining experience through innovation, engagement and strong people leadership.

What You'll Do:
- Lead and manage a large catering operation, ensuring high quality service delivery and achievement of budgeted financial targets.
- Take full responsibility for managing budgets, controlling labour costs, stock levels and food wastage to maximise operational efficiency.
- Lead, motivate and develop teams, including recruitment, performance management, employee engagement and staff development.
- Ensure full compliance with Food Safety, Health and Safety, company policies and regulatory requirements across all catering operations.
- Drive exceptional patient, client and service user satisfaction, continuously improving service standards and performance.
- Manage employee relations matters including attendance, conduct, performance and wellbeing in line with HR policies and procedures.
- Work closely with stakeholders including catering dietitians, contractors and senior management to enhance services, improve patient dining experiences and deliver value for money.
- Identify, manage and escalate operational, financial and compliance risks while contributing ideas and best practices to improve overall site performance.
What You Bring:
- Proven experience managing a diverse workforce within a service environment.
- Proven experience managing budgets and financial performance within a catering service.
- Excellent communication skills with patients, visitors, colleagues and clients.
- Ability to work independently, flexibly and professionally in a fast paced and changing environment.
- Ability to build positive relationships and demonstrate respect, empathy, care and compassion.
- Excellent customer service skills with a strong focus on service delivery.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while adhering to policies, procedures and standards.
- Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and strong literacy and numeracy skills.
- Qualification in Food Safety and Hygiene and Health and Safety.
- Previous experience working within a healthcare environment.
- Experience in training and developing staff.
- NVQ Healthcare Support Services, BICSc, CPSS, or HND in Hotel, Catering or Institutional Management.
