Make a Difference Every Day
Come and make memories at Whinfell School. There’s much more to this job than meets the eye…
One evening you might be baking, playing football or settling down for a fiercely competitive board-game tournament. The next, you could be go-karting, bowling, exploring a splatter room, playing laser quest or enjoying the arcades.
Weekends might mean crabbing by the coast, flying kites at a festival, walking in the beautiful Lake District—or packing your bags to accompany our young people on holiday.
The School:
At Whinfell School, our Residential Support Workers help autistic young people aged 7–19 to enjoy full, happy and meaningful lives. You’ll create opportunities, build confidence, encourage independence and provide the consistent care that helps each young person feel safe, understood and valued.
Of course, the role also involves responsibility, patience and resilience. You’ll support daily routines, emotional wellbeing and personal development. But at the heart of it all is something very special: building trusting relationships and creating experiences our young people will remember.
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Warm, kind and genuinely interested in young people
- Enthusiastic, playful and ready to get involved
- Patient, dependable and able to remain calm
- Respectful of each young person’s individuality
- Keen to learn and become part of a supportive team
Experience is welcomed, but your values, attitude and ability to connect with our young people matter just as much.
This isn’t simply a job where you watch from the sidelines. You’ll join in, encourage, laugh, celebrate achievements and help turn ordinary evenings and weekends into brilliant ones.
If you’re looking for work with purpose, variety and plenty of memorable moments, we’d love to hear from you.
Come and discover just how rewarding residential support work can be.
