Summary

Deputy Room Leader

Salary: £27,000 – £29,500 (dependent on qualifications and experience)

Full-time, 41 hours per week

We’re recruiting a Deputy Room Leader on behalf of a welcoming and well-established nursery, offering a supportive team, a beautiful setting, and a strong focus on professional development.

 

In this rewarding role, you’ll help lead a vibrant room, working closely with the Room Leader to deliver exceptional care and learning experiences for children aged 0-5. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified practitioner who’s confident, nurturing, and ready to grow.

 

What We're Looking For:

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent) –

    Essential

  • Previous experience working in a nursery or childcare setting

  • Solid understanding of the

    EYFS framework and child development

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • A proactive, organised, and caring approach to supporting young children

  • Ability to help lead and inspire a small team in a busy early years environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Room Leader in the day-to-day running of the room

  • Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities aligned with the EYFS

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every child can thrive

  • Build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues

  • Monitor and record children’s progress, sharing key updates with parents

  • Help manage room resources and ensure high standards of hygiene and safety

  • Be a positive role model and support junior team members
