We are seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer to deliver planned and reactive maintenance across building fabric, minor plumbing, simple mechanical equipment and limited electrical tasks within documented competence.

​The role involves carrying out routine maintenance activities, first-line fault diagnosis and minor repairs while ensuring safe reinstatement and escalation of specialist work where required.

Job Description

We are looking for a professional individual with significant experience in electrical building services maintenance, including fault finding, maintenance and installation, as well as reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) within commercial property environments.

​The successful candidate will work in line with established health and safety procedures, risk assessments and method statements.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across building fabric, plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems within authorised competence.

Perform first-line fault finding, minor repairs, component replacement and safe reinstatement.

Escalate specialist works requiring qualified engineers or statutory inspection.

Complete routine PPM tasks, including inspections, adjustments, meter readings and fabric repairs.

Undertake authorised water hygiene duties, including temperature checks and outlet flushing.

Conduct routine fire alarm and emergency lighting tests where trained and authorised.

Carry out limited electrical tasks, including visual checks, lamp replacement and simple accessory replacement.

Maintain accurate records and communicate progress, risks and service impacts effectively.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

Skills & Experience

Experience in electrical-related building services maintenance, including fault finding, maintenance and installation.

Previous experience providing reactive and PPM building services maintenance.

Experience working within FM or building services environments in commercial properties.

Experience working under strict health and safety procedures, including risk assessments and method statements.

Ability to use approved risk assessments, method statements, permits, isolation procedures and COSHH controls.

Strong communication skills with the ability to identify practical improvements to reliability and customer service.

Qualifications

Applicants should hold one of the following qualification pathways:

City & Guilds 2365, 2357 Level 3 and NVQ 2356 AM2.

City & Guilds 2330 Level 3 in Electrical Installation and NVQ 2356 and AM2.

City & Guilds 236/2360 in Electrical Installations Part 1 & 2.

City & Guilds 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2018), preferably with A2 Amendment.
