Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Public Health Lead – Gambling Harms to join us!

This is a 12-month fixed-term, part time position, with hybrid working and a salary of £55,296 - £60,286 per annum (£33,177 - £36,171 per annum pro rata based on 22.2 hours per week).

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Public Health professional to lead a high-profile Gambling Harms programme across the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead and Bracknell Forest. The post holder will be pivotal to reducing gambling related harm in the two local authority areas, adopting a co-production approach to convene stakeholders impacted by and who can help to reduce gambling harm locally.

The role is initially for a 12-month period and much of this will focus on delivery of a Health Needs Assessment for RBWM and Bracknell Forest. The approach for this must include capacity and capability building throughout the process to build in solutions to reduce gambling harm from the start. The role presents an opportunity to gain experience working across two local authority areas and lead an emerging area of population health work. It will particularly appeal to people with experience and interest in co-production and capacity building approaches to public health programmes.

This jointly funded role offers the opportunity to work across two ambitious public health systems to deliver an important piece of work that will shape future approaches to preventing and reducing gambling harms.

The role:

Working jointly across RBWM and Bracknell Forest, you will lead the development and delivery of a comprehensive Gambling Harms Health Needs Assessment (HNA), helping to shape future policy, commissioning and service development across both local authority areas.

The role will require engagement with communities and stakeholders across both boroughs and offers a unique opportunity to develop experience working across multiple local authority and health systems.

This is a hybrid role; however, the postholder will be expected to work regularly within both RBWM and Bracknell Forest to support stakeholder engagement, partnership working and community-based research / engagement activities.

The post will sit within the Public Health Team in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and will report to the Deputy Director of Public Health at RBWM.

What we are looking for:

Experience of leading or making a significant contribution to Health Needs Assessments, Joint Strategic Needs Assessments, population health reviews or similar tasks.

Competence in capability and capacity building, working across local government, NHS and VCSE stakeholders and improve health outcomes.

Experience of collating, analysing and interpreting quantitative and qualitative information.
