Summary

We are looking for a reliable, proactive and hardworking Site Operative to join our team at a busy Transfer Station/Recycling Centre.

Previous experience working at a Transfer Station, Recycling Centre or similar environment is helpful but not essential, as full training will be provided. We are looking for someone with a flexible attitude, a willingness to learn and a strong commitment to providing a safe, clean and reliable service to members of the public.

Health and safety is central to everything we do, so you must be comfortable following site procedures, identifying and reporting hazards, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

. Direct and advise members of the public to the correct areas to dispose of recyclable materials.

. Traffic marshal vehicles safely into parking and tipping areas when required.

. Help ensure minimal contamination of recyclable materials.

. Maintain clean and tidy working areas, walkways and roadways.

. Carry out general housekeeping duties around the site.

. Follow all site operating procedures and health and safety requirements.

. Report any safety concerns, hazards or incidents promptly.

. Inform the Team Leader or Site Manager of any operational issues.

. Communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors and members of the public.

. Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

. Provide a helpful, professional and reliable service to the community.
