Location: Chester

Salary: £24,636 per annum

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:45am–4:45pm | Term Time Only

Start Date: 2nd November 2026

Are you a Psychology, Education or related graduate passionate about supporting children with additional needs?

Are you considering a future career in SEN Teaching, Educational Psychology, Speech & Language Therapy or Occupational Therapy?

Would hands-on experience within a specialist SEN environment give you the experience you need for your future career?

KPI Education is recruiting several

Graduate SEN Learning Mentors for an exceptional specialist school in Chester supporting children and young people aged

4–19 with autism, including pupils with additional learning difficulties and behaviours that can challenge.

This is far more than a standard Teaching Assistant position. For the right graduate, it represents an opportunity to gain meaningful, practical experience working alongside an established transdisciplinary team of teachers, learning and behaviour specialists, Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists.

The Graduate SEN Learning Mentor role

You will work closely with individual pupils and small groups, helping them overcome barriers to learning while supporting their academic, social and emotional development.

Your responsibilities will include delivering targeted learning activities, providing positive behaviour support, contributing to focused interventions and working alongside teachers and specialist professionals to provide personalised support.

You will also help monitor pupil progress, provide feedback and contribute towards creating a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Who are KPI Education looking for?

We are particularly interested in hearing from graduates in subjects including:

Psychology | Education | Childhood Studies | Linguistics | English Language | Sociology | Criminology | Sports Science | Health & Social Care

You may already have experience supporting children or young people through schools, tutoring, mentoring, care, youth work, sports coaching or volunteering. More importantly, you should have a genuine interest in SEN and the patience, resilience and communication skills required to build meaningful relationships with young people.

This opportunity could be particularly valuable if your longer-term ambition is to become an

SEN Teacher, Educational Psychologist, Speech & Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist or specialist SEN practitioner.

The school is looking for people who want to make a genuine difference to outcomes for children and young people with SEND.

If you are a graduate looking to turn your academic background and passion for SEN into meaningful experience,

apply today with your CV to KPI Education.
