Summary

Student Support Worker

Location: Wath Academy

Salary: Band E Point 7 to 11 £27,274 to £29,071 FTE per annum

Actual Salary: £23,119.41

Contract: 37 hours, Term Time Only + 2 Inset Days, Fixed-Term for 1 Year

Start date: As soon as possible

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Wath Academy for an exceptional Student Support Worker to join our experienced and highly motivated pastoral team.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed and empathetic individual who is passionate about supporting young people. You will play a key role in promoting students’ wellbeing, engagement and personal development, providing high-quality pastoral care and helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Working closely with teaching staff, pastoral colleagues, parents/carers and external agencies, you will build positive and supportive relationships with students and provide consistent, effective support within a busy secondary school environment.

The successful candidate will be calm, approachable and proactive, with the ability to respond sensitively to the needs of young people while maintaining clear expectations and professional boundaries.

  • be able to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required;

  • have strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with students, staff and families.
