Summary

Luma Education Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant / Education Support Worker to join a welcoming and supportive specialist education setting in Totnes, Devon.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate, caring and enthusiastic individual who enjoys working with young people and wants to build a rewarding career within specialist education.

You will support pupils with SEND, additional learning needs, EBSNA/EBSA, autism and social, emotional and communication needs, helping them engage with education, develop confidence and build greater independence.

Working alongside experienced teachers and a dedicated support team, you will provide positive one-to-one and small-group support both within education and across the wider learning environment.

The setting offers a supportive environment with training, professional development and opportunities for progression for the right person.

As a Learning Support Assistant / Education Support Worker, you will work closely with teachers and the wider education team to provide personalised support to pupils.

You will help young people engage with their learning, develop independence and confidence, participate in activities and make positive progress towards their individual goals.

This role would suit someone who is passionate about working with young people and enjoys building positive, trusting and consistent relationships.

- Provide positive one-to-one and small-group support.

- Support pupils to access and enjoy their education.

- Work alongside teachers and experienced support staff.

- Build positive and trusting relationships with young people.

- Support pupils with their individual learning and development.

- Encourage participation in educational, practical and wider activities.

You do not need to have worked as an LSA previously. We are interested in people who have the right attitude, values and enthusiasm for supporting young people.

Your background could be in education, care, youth work, childcare, health and social care, psychology, sports, coaching or another people-focused environment.

We are looking for someone who is:

- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

- Enhanced DBS clearance, or willingness to obtain one, prior to starting.

Experience or qualifications in Learning Support, Teaching Assistance, SEND, Education, Health & Social Care, Youth Work, Childcare, Psychology or a similar field would be beneficial but are not essential.
