Summary
A Role That Builds Experience as Well as Confidence
Want to develop a career in education while gaining practical experience supporting children who need a little more help to succeed?
A welcoming education setting in Halton is looking for a Learning Support Teaching Assistant to join its team ASAP.
You'll work directly with pupils who may need additional support with learning, communication, confidence, behaviour or emotional regulation. Alongside helping them make progress, you'll gain hands-on experience that can support your own development within education, SEND, pastoral care or teaching.
Every pupil learns differently. Your role will be to recognise where additional support is needed and help make learning feel more achievable.
You could be:
- Supporting pupils one-to-one or in small groups.
- Helping children understand and complete classroom activities.
- Breaking learning into smaller, manageable steps.
- Reinforcing literacy and numeracy skills.
- Supporting pupils with SEND and additional needs.
- Helping children maintain focus and engagement.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
- Building confidence and independence.
- Supporting individual learning targets.
- Working closely with teachers and support professionals.
The goal is always to help pupils become more confident and independent learners.
You may already have worked as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEN TA, Behaviour Mentor, Support Worker or Youth Worker.
Relevant experience could also come from:
Care • Early Years • Coaching • Mentoring • Children's Services • Community Support • SEND
You'll need to be patient, reliable and adaptable, with the ability to build positive relationships and remain calm when a pupil is finding something difficult.
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one, will be required.
The experience you gain could become a stepping stone towards future opportunities in:
SEND Support • HLTA • Behaviour Mentoring • Pastoral Support • SEMH • Teaching • Specialist Education
You'll benefit from:
- £95-£105 per day.
- Full-time, long-term work in Halton.
- An ASAP start.
- Practical classroom and SEND experience.
- Opportunities to develop your learning-support skills.
- Ongoing training and professional development.
- Experience that can strengthen your future education career.
Success won't look the same for every pupil.
Sometimes it's completing a task independently. Sometimes it's staying engaged, asking for help or having the confidence to try again.
As a Learning Support Teaching Assistant, you'll help pupils achieve those steps while building valuable skills and experience of your own.
If you're looking for a Learning Support Teaching Assistant role in Halton and you're ready to develop your career in education, apply today with your CV.
