Job Description
Glasgow Life is looking for enthusiastic Football Coaches to join our growing Football Development and Participation team on a permanent, part-time basis, with opportunities to work across evenings and weekends. As part of our coaching team, you’ll have the flexibility to work alongside your other commitments, with a range of regular and additional coaching opportunities available across our programme. You’ll become part of our wider coaching staff, with shifts offered based on programme needs and your availability. You’ll be joining an in-demand football programme that plays a key role in growing the game across Glasgow. From grassroots football and junior programmes to walking football, inclusive sessions and community initiatives, our coaches help make football accessible, enjoyable and welcoming for people of all ages and abilities.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your coaching experience, meet new people and make a real difference through football, while being part of a dedicated Glasgow Life team committed to getting more people active and involved in the game.
This is a Grade 3 role which equates to an hourly rate of £14.37 entry level to £15.25 per hour.

The Role
As a Football Coach with Glasgow Life, you’ll be at the heart of our football programme, helping people of all ages and abilities discover, enjoy and stay involved in the game.
You’ll have the opportunity to work across a wide and varied programme, from introducing our youngest participants to football through to adult and community programmes. Every session will be different, and you’ll play an important role in creating positive, fun and memorable experiences for participants.
Your role will include:
Bring football to life by planning and delivering engaging, high-quality coaching sessions for participants from 18 months through to adults.
Create sessions where everyone can thrive, adapting your coaching to suit different ages, abilities, needs and experience levels.
Keep developing your coaching through Glasgow Life coach development opportunities, helping you build your skills, confidence and experience.
Be part of the action by supporting the delivery of exciting local and national football events across Glasgow.
Help grow the game by working alongside football partners, clubs, organisations and other stakeholders to create more opportunities for people to get involved.
Shape the future of football in Glasgow by contributing ideas, feedback and experiences that help us develop and improve our programmes.
Make a difference through football, helping more people get active, build confidence, make connections and develop a lifelong love of the game.
Whether you’re working with our youngest players, supporting grassroots participation, delivering inclusive football or helping at major events,
you’ll be part of a team that is helping make Glasgow a great place to play football.
The candidate
If you’re interested in joining us as a Football Coach (staff bank) you’ll need:
- Scottish FA Introduction to Coaching qualification.
- Scottish FA Children’s Coaching Certificate.
- Availability to work weekday evenings and weekends, for example Tuesday evenings from 6pm to 8pm or Sunday mornings from 9am to 11.45am.
- Experience of coaching football with a range of age groups.
- Good communication and organisation skills.
- A positive attitude, flexible approach and professional manner
