Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
• Educated to at least A Level standard with GCSEs in Maths & English.
• Up-to-date First Aid and Paediatric First Aid Qualifications.
• Ability to provide support for pupils; ensuring their safety, welfare and pastoral needs are met.
• Experience of managing a team of staff and the ability to co-ordinate staff rotas and staffing requirements.
• Experience of working with primary-aged children in a childcare, education or play setting.
• Awareness of behaviour management strategies appropriate for primary-aged children.
• Experience of planning and delivering engaging activities for children.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and an ability to use IT effectively.
• Experience maintaining accurate records and handling confidential information.
• An interest and commitment to work-related training.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to cope with and adapt to change.
• Ability to work with other team members and to contribute imaginatively to team development.
• Ability to work co-operatively and flexibly within a team.
• An understanding of the importance of confidentiality and data protection.
• Ability to act and work on own initiative.
• An understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities and procedures when working with children.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond appropriately to unexpected situations.
• Strong record-keeping and data-entry skills.
