Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
Key responsibilities of a Protective Services Lecturer:
• Teaching - you will demonstrate excellent practitioner skills and competencies – be able to developlessons to meet the requirements of our Teaching, Learning and Assessment framework, enhance the learner experience and support learners to self-actualise their true potential
• Delivering theory based and practical based specialist units including hierarchy and routine (drill), telecommunications, emergency planning, outdoor activity skills, map reading, crime scene investigation, war and conflict careers and fitness
• Quality Assurance-Experience in internal and external quality assurance processes e.g. including writing assignment briefs, marking learner work against assessment criteria, internal verification, and working with awarding bodies such as BTEC and/or NCFE
• Use of Learning Platforms -Use of digital platforms including Google Classroom or similar virtual learning environments to support schedule hand out/hand in of assignment briefs, uploading and allocating worksheets to the learners to support their learning
• Supporting Higher level grades -Evidence of planning and teaching strategies to help learners achieve higher grades and exceed their initial target grades
• Participate in outdoor learning, the role would appeal to candidates with experience and enthusiasm for outdoor adventurous activities, and residential trips to support the development of essential knowledge, skills and behaviours of young people
• Highly Organised and Professional - Evidence of organisation of workload to ensure deadlines are achieved for marking, feedback to learners, administration e.g. completion of progress reviews, and quality assurance activities
• Maintain own levels of fitness and be able to role model a positive lifestyle in order to deliver units needed for courses

Our ideal candidate will holdthe following qualifications, skills and experience;
• Hold a teaching qualification andhave experience of teaching in the Further or Higher Education sectors
OR
• Have a level 3 qualification in the subject relevant to the course you will be delivering, and be prepared to undertake a Further Education teaching qualification with our support, as part of ourPassport to Teachingprogramme
OR
• Have significant Service Industries, industry experience, and be qualified to level 3 in the subject and be prepared to undertake a Further Education teaching qualification with our support, as part of ourPassport to Teachingprogramme
All applicants should have good administrative skills and be able to accurately track students' attendance, progress and achievements.
