What You’ll Be DoingReporting to the Student Liaison Manager, the Student Liaison Officer will provide a positive role model to students and promote good behaviour by engaging with students and staff and responding in a professional manner to de-escalate confrontational situations which may occur in the College from time to time.Acting as a College ambassador at all times the Student Liaison Officer will ensure a safe, secure and welcoming learning environment for staff, students and visitors, liaising with individuals and teams within the College, agencies and community groupYou will:Work on a daytime and evening shift - as directed by your Student Liaison ManagerBe an integral part of the cross-college student services and support Team monitoring student behaviour, intervening and managing behaviour when appropriateMonitoring the common areas of the College property to support and maintain expected behaviour.Identify and challenge student behaviour deemed outside college expectations in a non-confrontational manner.Undertake regular routine student liaison checks of all internal and external areas identifying students who may not be in their timetabled lessonsSupervise students at break times, ensuring students are respectful of their surroundings, staff and of each other.Assist all staff in encouraging the continually positive behaviour, punctuality and attendance of all studentsWhat We’re Looking ForYou should have:English and Maths qualifications at level 2 or aboveHave,or be willing to take, the Designated Safeguarding Lead qualificationBehaviour management, de-escalation and/or relevant qualification that supports student safety aims, is desireable.Understanding of Child and Vulnerable Adult protection (Safeguarding Agenda) and the willingness to increase knowledgeIn addition, you will demonstrate:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and external agenciesExperience of providing support, advice or guidance ideally within an education, student services or customer facing environmentStrong organisational and administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records and meet deadlinesAbility to identify and respond appropriately to student concerns, including knowing when issues should be escalated or referred to other support servicesAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team, demonstrating a flexible and proactive approachCommitment to delivering an inclusive, student focused service, with an understanding of confidently, equality, diversity and professional boundariesWhat’s In It for You?We offer a wide range of benefits, including:A competitive salary of £30,060 – £32,926 per annum, inclusive of London Weighting, dependent on qualifications and experienceGenerous holiday and pension packagesOngoing CPD and strong links with industryFree parking and access to travel-to-work and technology assistance schemesThe opportunity to be part of a passionate, supportive team focused on learner successAdvert closing date: 22nd September 2026
