TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream primary school in Matlock who are looking to appoint an SEN Teaching Assistant. The school provides a supportive learning environment where pupils are encouraged to develop academically, socially and emotionally.
The school is looking to take on an SEN Teaching Assistant on a part-time, long-term basis, working Wednesday to Friday until Christmas, with the potential for the position to continue until July 2027. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will support pupils within Key Stage 1 / KS1 with Autism / ASD, helping them access learning, develop their confidence and engage positively within the classroom.
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:
• Experience supporting children with SEN / SEND, particularly Autism / ASD
• Experience working with children within Key Stage 1 / KS1
• A good understanding of supporting additional needs within a mainstream classroom
• A patient and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A positive and adaptable attitude
