The Role

As an ASD Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who have a range of needs associated with autism, providing both 1:1 and small-group support throughout the school day.

You will be responsible for:

- Supporting pupils with ASD across classroom activities and structured learning

- Providing 1:1 and small-group interventions

- Supporting pupils with communication, social interaction and emotional regulation

- Using visual timetables, structured routines and individualised learning strategies

- Helping pupils manage sensory needs and transitions throughout the day

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is calm, proactive and resilient, with a genuine interest in working with children and young people with additional needs.

Previous experience within an SEN school, mainstream SEN provision, care setting or support environment would be highly beneficial. Experience with ASD, communication needs, sensory needs, challenging behaviour, Makaton, PECS or other communication strategies would also be advantageous.

This is a full-time, long-term opportunity within a supportive specialist school and would suit someone looking to develop a career within SEN education.

If you are passionate about supporting pupils with autism and believe you can provide consistent, positive and engaging support, we would love to hear from you.
