Hays Education is working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school seeking a dedicated and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to join their Personalised Learning Centre (PLC) as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students who require additional support to engage positively with education.

The RoleWorking within the school's PLC, you will support students with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning, develop confidence, and achieve positive outcomes both academically and socially.This position is full-time, working:

Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 4:00pm

Friday: 8:00am - 3:30pm

37 hours per week

Immediate start

Initially until October half-term

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience supporting secondary-aged students with SEND

Has worked within a PLC, inclusion unit, nurture provision, alternative provision, or similar setting

Can build positive relationships with students who may face barriers to learning

Remains calm, patient, and professional in challenging situations

Is confident supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs

Works effectively as part of a wider pastoral and inclusion team

What You'll Be Doing

Providing one-to-one and small-group support

Supporting students with SEND and SEMH needs

Encouraging engagement, attendance, and positive behaviour

Assisting students in developing confidence, independence, and resilience

Working closely with teachers, SENDCOs, and pastoral staff to support student progress
