Hour: 37 hours per week

Location: Gloucestershire, GL1 2TG

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Traffic Engineering Team Manager to lead a growing, multi-disciplinary team delivering a major programme of highway improvements.

You’ll play a key role in shaping safer, healthier and more sustainable streets, leading projects focused on road safety, accessibility, sustainable travel and reducing congestion. This includes driving forward a countywide Safer Roads/Community 20s initiative and annual road safety programme.

The Role:

Lead a substantial highway improvement programme, delivering projects on time and to budget

Oversee traffic engineering design, standards, health & safety and project delivery

Manage contractors and ensure works are delivered to specification

Develop innovative ways of working, including the use of AI

Build strong relationships with stakeholders, colleagues and Members

Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing, inclusive team

Participate in out-of-hours duties when required

About You:

Degree in an Engineering discipline

Relevant professional membership, e.g. ICE, CIHT or IHE

Strong traffic/highway engineering and project management experience

Confident people leader with excellent stakeholder management skills

Passionate about delivering safer, more accessible and sustainable transport solutions

Flexible & agile working available.
