Summary

What's involved with this role:

Triumph Consultants are looking for an experienced Environmental Health Officer for their client. The role will cover a full range of environmental health work, with a focus on routine C & D work, complaints, infectious disease, health and safety and commercial nuisance.

Contract is for 3 months in Exeter, EX1 1JN.

Pay Rate: £35.41 per hour PAYE

Hours per week: 37

Contract length: 4 months

Key Requirements

BSc/Diploma in Environmental Health and EHRB Certificate of Registration.

Practical experience in general environmental health enforcement, including statutory enforcement procedures.

Experience investigating complaints and enquiries from members of the public and businesses.

Good investigative, communication and report-writing skills, with the ability to produce clear and accurate reports.

Prepared to carry out site visits and participate in monthly out-of-hours work as required.

Key Responsibilities

Investigate complaints and requests for service relating to commercial premises and environmental health matters.

Inspect, audit and sample commercial premises, processes and plant, taking appropriate enforcement action where required.

Prepare and enforce statutory notices, monitor remedial works and collect evidence for potential court proceedings.

Work with residents, businesses and internal/external partners to improve environmental and public health standards.

Attend court, meetings and consultations, and support education, training and preventative environmental health initiatives.
