Summary

Building Supervisor (Without Supervision)

Salary: £25,583 - £25,989 per annum (pro rata)

Hours: 36 hours per week

Duration: Temp - ongoing

Our client is seeking to appoint a reliable and motivated

Building Supervisor (Without Supervision) to support the day-to-day operation, security and maintenance in Dungannon.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the library building is safe, secure, clean and well-maintained for staff, visitors and customers.

Hours

Week One

    • Monday: 9:30am to 5:30pm (45-minute break)

    • Tuesday: 9:30am to 5:30pm (45-minute break)

    • Wednesday: 9:30am to 5:30pm (45-minute break)

    • Thursday: 12:15pm to 8:00pm (45-minute break)

    • Friday: 9:30am to 5:30pm (45-minute break)

HPW: 36 hours

Main Duties

  • Open and close library premises as required.
  • Undertake key holder responsibilities and maintain building security.
  • Carry out routine building inspections and report maintenance issues.
  • Supervise and assist with cleaning activities to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Operate cleaning equipment, including electrical cleaning machinery.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety procedures and regulations.
  • Support the delivery of library services through effective facilities management.
  • Work flexibly across different Libraries NI locations as required.

Essential Criteria

Qualifications

  • Hold a valid full driving licence.

Experience

  • Minimum of one year's experience working as an Assistant Building Supervisor, Caretaker, Building Attendant or in a similar role within a medium to large building.
  • Previous responsibility for building security, including opening and closing premises and key holder duties.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of building cleaning methods and the use of electrical cleaning equipment, such as floor polishing machines.
  • Awareness of Health and Safety legislation and practices, including COSHH and/or CLP regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to work a flexible shift pattern including mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends as required.
  • Willingness to work at both the base location and other Libraries NI premises when required.
  • Must have no criminal record that would prevent working with children or vulnerable adults.
