Summary
Overview of the Organisation
Global Relief Trust (GRT) is one of the fastest-growing NGOs in the field of international development. With a vision to eradicate poverty, we serve the most vulnerable communities in over 10 countries. We do this by carrying out projects in various sectors, including food, livelihood, health, education, and water.
The Board of Trustees sets the Organisation’s vision and strategies, and the Chief Executive Officer leads the operational management.
We are seeking three skilled, passionate and delivery-focused Community Fundraisers to join our Fundraising team, with one position available in each of our three locations: London, Stoke-on-Trent and Manchester. The successful candidates will work closely with the Fundraising Manager to support and deliver effective community fundraising activities.
Overview of the Role
The role is responsible for coordinating fundraising activities and identifying opportunities to increase income for the charity. The postholder will develop and manage relationships with new and existing GRT supporters, while identifying, securing and developing corporate fundraising opportunities through research and proactive prospecting for new corporate supporters.
Key Responsibilities: Community Fundraising.
• Support the development and implementation of effective strategies for GRT campaigns and fundraising appeals.
• Increase fundraising income by identifying and developing new fundraising opportunities from potential sources, including communities, religious institutions, corporates, retailers and the general public, whose interests and criteria align with the charity’s aims and activities.
• Identify and secure opportunities to obtain gifts in kind from members of the public, communities, religious institutions and corporate organisations.
• Raise awareness of GRT and its work at local and national levels.
• Research relevant markets and sectors to identify new fundraising opportunities.
• Work with various forms of media, including websites, posters, television and newsletters, to promote, market and advertise forthcoming events and fundraising campaigns.
• Maintain clear, accurate and informative records of all communications with donors and supporters on the fundraising database.
• Inspire new and potential supporters to fundraise for GRT, while maintaining and developing positive relationships with existing supporters.
• Build and develop relationships with corporate organisations, funding bodies, charities and NGOs.
• Attend, support and participate in fundraising events as and when required.
• Produce regular and up-to-date fundraising reports for management, staff and the Board.
• Manage communications with donors and supporters and maintain positive and professional relationships.
• Work closely with other departments and attend regular meetings to discuss collaboration, fundraising opportunities and future events.
• Undertake fundraising deployments and donor visits to engage with potential and existing donors and encourage further support and donations.
• Ensure that GRT fundraising activities comply with applicable legal, regulatory and professional standards, including relevant Charity Commission requirements and the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice.
• Undertake any other duties reasonably required by Management.

Terms of Employment:
1 Year. The contract is extendable/renewable, subject to good performance and a successful appraisal.
