We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised, and community-focused Community Hub Coordinator to join our Head Office in Birmingham.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing our community hub, coordinating a diverse programme of activities and sessions for the local community. The post holder be responsible for volunteer recruitment and engagement, ensuring the hub is a welcoming, safe, and vibrant space, as well as maintaining a comprehensive central database of all GRT volunteers across the UK. Working closely with third-party agencies including mental health organisations, the Citizens Advice Bureau, Job Centre Plus, and others, the post-holder will maximise the hub's impact and ensure it serves as a vital resource for the community
Key Responsibilities
Hub Management & Activities Coordination
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the community hub, ensuring it is well-maintained, safe, and welcoming for all users.
• Plan, coordinate, and deliver a varied programme of activities and sessions, including youth clubs, coffee mornings, sisters' and brothers' halaqa sessions, and other community-focused events.
• Manage room bookings and facility usage, liaising with individuals, groups, and external organisations to ensure needs are met.
• Ensure the hub is fully maximised through effective scheduling and partnership working.
• Maintain and update the central database of all GRT volunteers across the UK, ensuring all records are accurate, up-to-date, and processed in full compliance with UK GDPR and GRT's data protection policies.
Volunteer Engagement & Management
• Develop and implement a volunteer strategy to recruit, induct, and support volunteers across the hub's activities.
• Provide ongoing supervision, support, and development for volunteers, ensuring they have a positive and meaningful experience.
• Match volunteers to roles based on their interests, skills, and development goals.
• Maintain accurate volunteer records and ensure all volunteer practices comply with organisational policies and health and safety requirements.
Partnership & External Agency Engagement
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local organisations, partners, and stakeholders.
• Proactively engage third-party agencies including mental health organisations, CAB, Job Centre Plus, and others to utilise the hub's facilities and deliver services to the community.
• Act as the primary point of contact for partner organisations using the hub.
• Support outreach and awareness campaigns to promote the hub and its services.
Administration & Compliance
• Maintain accurate records of activities, attendance, and community engagement.
• Support the monitoring and evaluation of hub activities, tracking impact and outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with GRT's safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection policies.
• Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the organisation (training will be provided).
• Identify, report, and manage risks associated with the role to safeguard employees, volunteers, and the general public.
