Summary

The Prime Minister’s Office enables the Prime Minster to deliver the Government’s overall priorities and to communicate the Government’s policies to Parliament, the public and international audiences. From the Policy Unit, Communications, Switchboard and Custodians, to the Events & Visits team and the Private Office support; the diverse No10 team draws on varied expertise from across the Civil Service and beyond. The teams come together to deliver excellent service to the Prime Minister while also making No10 a great place to work.

We are looking for a creative and motivated Videographer to join the Prime Minister’s digital team, based at No.10 North. Reporting to the Senior Videographer and working within a team led by the Chief Videographer, you will be an integral part of the wider No.10 team, working closely with colleagues based in London.

You will take a leading role in capturing and producing content from No.10 North, as well as supporting the Prime Minister and the wider team on visits, events and other activity. You will help ensure we can respond quickly to opportunities outside London and create high-quality, engaging content that supports the Prime Minister’s communications strategy across No.10 and PM channels.

While primarily based at No.10 North, this is very much a role within one joined-up digital team. You will be expected to travel regularly across the country and to London to work alongside the wider team at 10 Downing Street, supporting major moments, shoots and events as required.

Working closely with the Video Editor, Senior Videographer and other creative colleagues, you will deliver high-quality and timely video content across a range of formats and platforms.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong digital skills for socials and a passion for visual storytelling who wants to develop their career in a fast-paced, high-profile environment. We are looking for someone who can combine creative vision with strong operational delivery – generating ideas, spotting opportunities and bringing them to life in ways that cut through and resonate with audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for capturing high-quality video content from No.10 North, ensuring activity based there is effectively reflected across the Prime Minister's digital channels.
  • Support the Senior Videographer and Chief Videographer in delivering video content for the Prime Minister, No.10 and UK Government channels, ensuring alignment with the team's wider video strategy.
  • Support the Prime Minister and wider No.10 team on visits, events and other activity across the North, identifying and capturing strong content opportunities on the ground.
  • Work as part of one integrated No.10 digital team, collaborating closely with colleagues based in London and travelling to 10 Downing Street and elsewhere across the UK when required.
  • Film and edit a range of content, including live events, interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, visits and digital campaigns.
  • Deliver short-form, social-first video optimised for different platforms, formats and audiences.
  • Collaborate closely with the Video Editor and wider creative team to ensure content is delivered to a consistently high standard.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of shoots, including equipment set-up, lighting and audio.
  • Execute filming, editing, colour grading and audio mixing to a high professional standard.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, responding quickly to opportunities and delivering high-quality work to tight deadlines.
  • Stay up to date with digital trends and best practice in video production, bringing fresh ideas and formats to the team.
  • Contribute creative thinking to both regular drumbeat content and planned video pieces, helping shape the long-term visual identity of the Prime Minister online.
  • Run livestreams, working with external delivery partners to ensure broadcasts are high-quality and accessible.
  • Work professionally and discreetly around senior leaders and high-profile individuals, including in fast-moving and sensitive environments.
