A welcoming and supportive primary school in Wythenshawe is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. The school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment for young children with a range of additional needs, with a strong focus on supporting their early development, communication, independence and emotional wellbeing.

The successful candidate will work closely with the EYFS teaching team to support children throughout the school day, helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment while building strong, trusting relationships with pupils.

• Providing 1:1 and small group support to children with additional needs within the EYFS setting

• Supporting children's communication, language, social and emotional development

• Supporting children with Autism, ADHD and other additional learning needs

• Encouraging positive behaviour and helping children to regulate their emotions

• Supporting learning through play-based activities and continuous provision

• Building positive and trusting relationships with children

• Adapting activities and tasks to meet individual children's needs and abilities

• Supporting children's independence, confidence and development of key early learning skills

• Working closely with the class teacher and wider EYFS team

• Promoting a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment

• A welcoming and supportive school environment

• A collaborative and experienced EYFS team

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about early years and SEND education who wants to support young children at an important stage of their development and help them build the foundations for future learning.

• Have experience working with children, ideally within an EYFS, nursery, primary or SEND setting

• Have a calm, patient and nurturing approach

• Be confident supporting children with additional needs

• Have an understanding of SEND, including Autism, ADHD and social, emotional and behavioural needs

• Be confident building positive relationships with young children

• Understand the importance of play-based learning and early childhood development

• Be proactive, reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team

• Have full-time availability

• Hold a valid Child Workforce DBS or be willing to obtain one

• Hold an EYFS, childcare or education-related qualification (desirable but not essential)

• Free access to CPD and safeguarding training

• Dedicated consultant and ongoing support

• Access to a range of education and SEND opportunities

This role is subject to a Child Workforce DBS, satisfactory references, and full compliance with KCSIE (2025) guidance and safer recruitment standards. Overseas police checks may be required where applicable.
