We're looking for an experienced Nurture Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support to a pupil with Autism and complex SEND in a specialist school in Disley, Stockport.
This is a role for someone who understands that progress isn't always about completing more work. Sometimes it starts with building trust, creating consistency and helping a young person feel safe enough to engage.
You'll have the opportunity to work closely with one pupil and really get to know what helps them learn, communicate and feel confident.
You'll be part of a wider specialist team, rather than simply being expected to manage things on your own.
You'll help the pupil to:
- Access learning and the wider school environment
- Build confidence and independence
- Develop communication and social skills
- Manage anxiety and emotional regulation
- Engage with activities and learning
- Develop positive relationships
- Work towards their individual outcomes
Your day will involve providing consistent 1:1 support and adapting your approach around the pupil's individual needs.
You'll work alongside teaching staff and the wider SEND team, supporting learning, communication, independence and emotional wellbeing.
We're looking for someone with previous experience as a SEND TA, Teaching Assistant, LSA or HLTA, ideally with experience supporting Autism and/or complex SEND.
You'll be calm, patient and consistent, with the ability to build a genuine relationship with a pupil and understand that every young person responds differently.
