What skills and experience we're looking for

We wish to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of English with a proven ability to produce excellent results. We are looking for a colleague who can excite and motivate young people, is committed to bringing imaginative ideas into the classroom and can turn students with promise into skilful and successful learners.

The popularity and success of the school has been marked by the rapid growth over the last 5 years leading to us being significantly oversubscribed. This growth is coupled with our new onsite Resourced Provision (ASD focus and work that has begun on our long-awaited 18 classroom block)

At the heart of the school is the English department, united through a shared love of literature and language, we hope to inspire students to trulyvalue our subject: enjoying their lessons as well as being challenged academically. You would be part of a friendly and supportivedepartment where you would have the chance to really make a difference to our studentsand contribute to our mission to drive forward standards.

Applications are welcome from both ECTs and more experienced colleagues. We offer an excellent ECT support programme with a bespoke schedule of training and mentors. A recruitment/retention payment or TLR might be available for the right candidate alongside this vacancy.

The role and responsibilities include:

• Provision of high-quality teaching of English at Key Stage 3 and 4

• Raising student attainment

• Assessing, recording and reporting on student progress

• Supporting the vision and values of the school

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

• Knowledge/experience of teaching English across all three Key Stages

• Up to date teaching methodology

• An ability to work confidently within a team and communicate effectively

• A passion for inspiring young people to attain the highest level possible
