Summary

Hours: Panama shift (12h rotating days/nights)

Pay: £12.85 - £25.70ph

Average salary £30 - £32k

Overview

We're recruiting experienced machine operators for a print assistant role on a Panama shift in the Telford area. The successful candidates will have machine operating experience and preferably knowledge of flexographic print, extrusion or experience in an FMCG/manufacturing environment. This is a hands‑on production role focused on quality, uptime and safe operation.

Key responsibilities

Set up, operate and monitor machine lines to meet production targets.

Support Printer 1 with machine operating duties

Supporting extrusion department

Emptying granules bags into containers

Conduct routine quality checks (film gauge, appearance, seal integrity) and log production data.

Change reels/dies, perform planned cleaning and basic preventative maintenance.

Troubleshoot common issues (die lines, uneven gauge, film draw issues) and escalate complex faults to maintenance.

Comply with health & safety procedures and site quality standards.

Support shift handovers and keep accurate production records.

Essential requirements

Proven machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment.

Basic mechanical aptitude and experience following process parameters.

Good attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.

Flexibility to work the Panama shift pattern (rotating day/night shifts).

Physically fit as the role is physically demanding and requires elements of heavy lifting

Right to work in the UK.

Desirable

Direct experience with flexographic processes or extrusion

Previous FMCG or flexible packaging experience.

Basic maintenance skills or experience working with extrusion equipment.
