What Can You Expect?

We're looking for motivated individuals to join our busy Control Centre team, helping to deliver safe, reliable, and high-quality patient transport services. Working closely with hospital teams and frontline crews, you'll play a key role in coordinating patient journeys and ensuring resources are used effectively.

As an Out of Hours Controller/Planner, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating patient transport services outside of normal operating hours. You'll make important operational decisions, manage ambulance resources, and support the smooth running of the service while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and patient care. The role also includes opening and closing premises on designated shifts and participating in the Bronze on-call rota.

The role is based in North Hykeham, within walking distance of the train station, with free on-site parking available.

Summary Of Main Duties Include

Manage the efficient use of HTG PTS resources within the designated area by planning both pre-booked and short-notice transport requests.

Prepare the system effectively before running the plan, including accounting for vehicle downtime.

Negotiate with healthcare professionals regarding patient appointment times and coordinate resource availability to meet demand.

Communicate with the operations team if service delivery is at risk due to resource shortages or staff sickness.

Allocate and assign physical resources, including personnel and vehicles, using the Patient Transport system.

Contact customers and patients about their transport needs, inform them promptly if commitments cannot be met, and provide alternative options where possible.
