Summary

This position qualifies for a market supplement payment of £200 per month. Please note this additional payment will be reviewed on 31 March 2027.

Are you passionate about supporting people affected by substance use and making a lasting difference in their lives? Ceredigion County Council is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our dynamic, forward-thinking Social Care Substance Team.

About the role

As a Grade 11 Senior Practitioner within the Substance Team, you will play a key role in supporting the Team Manager, coordinating day-to-day service functions, promoting high-quality practice, and contributing to continued service development.

Key responsibilities

- support management in coordinating the daily functions of the Substance Team

- contribute to service development and continuous improvement

- manage a varied caseload, including assessment, planning, review and risk management

- provide line management, support and supervision to intervention workers

- promote quality of practice, effective recording and evidence-based intervention

- work collaboratively with partner agencies to support positive outcomes for individuals and families

About you

We are looking for an experienced, creative and motivated professional who is committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for individuals and their families.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of anti-discriminatory practice, harm reduction principles and person-centered, strengths-based approaches. You will also have knowledge of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 and relevant national substance misuse strategies, alongside strong communication, assessment, risk management and team-working skills.
