The Opportunity
Are you a Veterinary Surgeon looking to develop your surgical skills while making a real difference to pets and the people who love them?
This is an exciting opportunity to join the
Portsmouth Pet Hospital, where you'll enjoy a varied caseload, plenty of hands-on surgical experience and the support of a highly collaborative clinical team.
You'll have the opportunity to develop your skills through a structured
Veterinary Surgeon Skills Development Framework, giving you a clear pathway for clinical development and progression.
Surgical Opportunities
You'll gain experience across a broad range of procedures, including:
•
Soft tissue surgery – pyometras, cystotomies, enterotomies, enucleations and caesarean sections
•
Orthopaedics – cruciate repairs, femoral head and neck excisions (FHNE), hip reductions and fracture management
•
Dentistry – from routine extractions through to major surgical extractions
•
Emergency and complex cases, with opportunities to develop advanced skills in soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics, ophthalmic surgery and complex reconstructive procedures*
Your development will be formally reviewed each year, providing a clear pathway to build your clinical expertise and progress your career.
You'll ideally:
• Be
MRCVS registered
• Have experience delivering high-quality patient and client care
• Take a pragmatic, welfare-focused approach to clinical decision-making
• Be confident working in a fast-paced environment
• Be computer literate and comfortable using clinical systems
• Have ideally
12 months' UK small animal practice experience
Most importantly, you'll be passionate about delivering excellent veterinary care and keen to continue developing your clinical skills.
