An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Interim Principal Service Lead to join a senior Children & Young People Leadership Team. This is a pivotal role for an ambitious, experienced leader who can drive improvement and deliver outstanding outcomes for children and young people. Interested candidates must be qualified Social Workers

The Role
You will provide strategic leadership across a diverse portfolio including:
Children with Disabilities
Fostering and Residential Care
Placements and Family Time
Emotional Wellbeing
Services supporting children in care and care-experienced young people
You will be responsible for driving quality, performance and continuous improvement, ensuring strong safeguarding practice, statutory compliance and inspection readiness.
Working across the wider system, you will build strong partnerships with health, education, police and other key agencies, ensuring services are joined-up, effective and focused on achieving the best possible outcomes.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a visible, authentic and ambitious senior leader with significant Children’s Social Care experience and a proven track record of leading services through complex environments and delivering meaningful improvement.
You’ll bring:
Strong strategic and operational leadership experience
A proven record of improving quality and performance
Excellent knowledge of safeguarding and statutory requirements
Experience leading complex Children’s Services
The ability to inspire high-performing teams and influence across partnerships
A strong commitment to the voice, safety and wellbeing of children and young people
