Join Our Wellbeing TeamSt Illtyd's Catholic High School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, resilient and highly motivated Assistant Head of Year to join our dedicated Wellbeing Team.This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning, achieve their potential and thrive both academically and personally. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Year and wider pastoral team to promote high standards of behaviour, attendance, wellbeing and personal development across the year group.The RoleThe Assistant Head of Year plays a crucial role in supporting the pastoral care and wellbeing of students by:• Providing day-to-day pastoral support and mentoring for students.• Supporting behaviour management through restorative approaches and interventions.• Assisting with investigations into student behaviour concerns.• Monitoring and promoting good attendance and punctuality.• Working closely with parents, carers and external agencies to support students effectively.• Maintaining accurate pastoral, behaviour and attendance records.• Supporting reward systems, assemblies and wider student activities.• Contributing to the school's commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.We Are Looking For Someone Who:• Has experience of working with young people in an educational, pastoral, youth work, wellbeing or similar setting.• Can build positive and professional relationships with students, families and staff.• Has excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.• Is resilient, calm and solution-focused when dealing with challenging situations.• Understands the importance of attendance, behaviour and wellbeing in securing positive outcomes for young people.• Shares our commitment to safeguarding and inclusion.• Is willing to play a full part in the life of a Catholic school community and support our distinctive ethos and values.Why Join St Illtyd's?At St Illtyd's Catholic High School, we are committed to providing an inclusive, caring and ambitious learning environment where every young person is known, valued and supported to succeed.
