Summary
PMLD Teaching Assistant - Greenwich - £95-£115 per day
We are currently recruiting for a compassionate and dedicated PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Greenwich. This is a highly rewarding role supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties.
The Role:
As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who have complex needs, including physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and medical needs. You will support learning through sensory-based activities and assist with personal care where required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with PMLD
- Support sensory learning activities and engagement
- Assist with personal care, feeding, and mobility
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and medical staff
- Support communication using alternative methods (PECS, Makaton)
- Maintain a safe, calm, and structured environment
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with PMLD, SEN, or care backgrounds
- Comfortable supporting personal care needs
- Patient, nurturing, and resilient approach
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Passion for supporting pupils with complex needs
