£110-£120 per day

Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary
We are recruiting an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with Autism (ASD), speech and language needs and challenging behaviour within a specialist provision at a primary school in North Kensington.
You'll work within the school's Autism Resource Base, supporting a small group of just five KS1 pupils. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who already has SEN experience and wants to develop their skills within a more specialist environment.
The Role
- Support five KS1 pupils with ASD and communication needs
- Provide 1:1 and small-group learning support
- Use visual timetables, PECS, Makaton and structured communication strategies where appropriate
- Support speech, language and social communication development
- Help pupils regulate emotions and manage behaviours that challenge
- Deliver activities adapted to individual developmental levels
- Encourage independence, interaction and engagement
- Work alongside the class teacher, SENCo and specialist professionals
- Support pupils towards individual EHCP targets
Ideal Candidate
- Previous SEN Teaching Assistant experience
- Strong experience supporting Autism/ASD
- Experience with challenging behaviour is highly desirable
- Understanding of speech and language needs
- Knowledge of PECS, Makaton or sensory strategies advantageous
- Calm, resilient and consistent approach
