We're looking for a practical, hands-on Engineer to help keep our venues running safely and efficiently.

Based at Carron Place in Leith, you'll travel between our venues using a company van, carrying out maintenance, inspections and repairs on a wide range of building systems and equipment. No two days are the same. One day you could be investigating a pool plant issue, the next carrying out maintenance on a heating system or responding to an urgent equipment fault.

You'll play an important role in keeping Edinburgh's leisure facilities safe, reliable and ready for customers to enjoy.

What You’ll Do:

- Carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across our venues.

- Complete routine inspections, servicing and repairs on building systems and equipment.

- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs safely and efficiently.

- Respond to urgent maintenance issues and equipment breakdowns.

- Record and update work using our maintenance management system.

- Plan and prioritise jobs based on urgency, safety and operational needs.

- Work with colleagues, contractors and other trades to complete maintenance work.

- Help identify recurring faults and opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency.

- Follow health and safety procedures at all times.

What You’ll Bring:

- A mechanical or electrical engineering qualification, such as City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, SVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

- At least 2 years' post-apprenticeship experience working independently.

- Experience working with building services, plant equipment or engineering systems.

- Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

- The ability to manage your workload and work independently.

- A full UK driving licence.

- Basic IT skills and confidence using maintenance systems.

- A good understanding of safe working practices, including risk assessments, manual handling, working at height and confined spaces.

Desirable: PASMA, IPAF, First Aid, MIG/TIG welding, Building Management Systems, or experience working with pool water treatment, heating and ventilation systems..

What We Offer:

- Generous holiday allowance (32 days, rising with service up to 40 days)

- Company pension (with employee contributions matched up to 12%)

- Flexible working hours

- Paid sick leave

- Free membership across all our centres with access to fitness classes, gyms, and swimming pools

- Opportunities for training, career growth and development

- Cycle-to-work scheme

- Access to discounts with a huge number of retailers (saving money in cinemas, restaurants, clothing, and electronics shops, on insurance and healthcare and much more)

Closing date - Sunday, 20th September

Assessment date - Thursday, 1st October

Assessment location - Carron Place, Leith, Edinburgh
