Summary

Fawkes & Reece are currently recruiting for an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join a well-established and respected house builder on a large residential development in Preston.

Our client is delivering a substantial

250-unit timber frame housing development and is looking for a driven and experienced Assistant Site Manager to join the team from

the end of September.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong residential background who is looking to join a busy site environment and play a key role in the successful delivery of a large-scale new build development.

The Role

As Assistant Site Manager, you will work closely with the Site Manager and wider project team, assisting with the day-to-day management of the development and ensuring plots are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

You will be responsible for coordinating subcontractors and trades, monitoring progress and ensuring works are completed in line with the build programme, quality standards and health & safety requirements.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Site Manager with the day-to-day running of the development.
  • Coordinating subcontractors and site trades.
  • Monitoring progress against programme and build targets.
  • Ensuring plots progress efficiently through each stage of construction.
  • Carrying out regular quality inspections and ensuring works meet required standards.
  • Maintaining high standards of health & safety across the site.
  • Identifying and addressing any issues that could impact programme or quality.
  • Ensuring subcontractors are working safely, efficiently and to agreed programmes.
  • Maintaining excellent standards of site presentation and housekeeping.
  • Assisting with site inductions, toolbox talks and daily briefings where required.
  • Liaising with the Site Manager, Contracts Manager and wider project team.
  • Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with company procedures, building regulations and NHBC standards.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Previous experience as an
  • Assistant Site Manager within residential new build housing.

  • Experience working on
  • timber frame developments.

  • A strong understanding of residential construction and build sequencing.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively within a busy and fast-paced site environment.
  • A proactive approach with strong attention to detail.
  • The confidence to manage subcontractors and site trades.
  • A strong understanding of health & safety and quality requirements.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates

must have all relevant qualifications and cards in date, including:

  • SSSTS or SMSTS

  • CSCS

  • First Aid

  • Recent references from a new build housing role
