Summary

Act as a clinical leader at local, regional and national levels Ensure the quality and safety of learners and learning environments Ensure we fulfil specific statutory functions including GMC Responsible Officer Champion Multi-disciplinary Healthcare Education Work with the NHSE Regional Medical Director and regional management team to support challenged Trusts and fragile services. Lead the strategic development and delivery of postgraduate medical education and contribute to wider multi-professional education and training across North East and Yorkshire. Provide expert clinical and educational advice to regional and national leaders on education, training, learner quality, workforce development and associated service implications. Ensure robust governance, assurance and quality management arrangements are in place for education and training, aligned to statutory, regulatory and professional standards. Ensure safe, inclusive and supportive learning environments for resident doctors, dentists, pharmacists and other learners across clinical settings. Lead and influence across organisational boundaries, working with providers, integrated care systems, regulators, higher education institutions and professional bodies. Support delivery of national and regional workforce priorities, including transformation linked to care closer to home, digital innovation and prevention. Identify, escalate and help resolve education and training risks, particularly where learner safety, patient safety, service fragility or organisational challenge is identified. Provide senior leadership to teams and programmes, including effective management of people, resources, budgets, performance and change. Model NHS values and inclusive leadership behaviours, creating a culture of collaboration, accountability, respect and continuous improvement.
