The Role:

We are looking for an individual to provide leadership and advocacy for health and wellbeing across City of Stoke-on-Trent, along with supporting the development and implementation on action to reduce inequalities across City of Stoke-on-Trent. An individual who can lead on programmes of work relevant to the public health team, both within the council and with its partner organisations, to improve public health outcomes and reduce inequalities and across City of Stoke-on-Trent.

Key Responsibilities:

To interpret national guidelines, best practice, policy and strategy and offer specialist advice to ensure effective delivery of public health activities/services

To lead, develop and implement evidence-based public health programmes, which aim to improve health and reduce health inequalities

Manage highly complex /high risk issues within a framework of policy and regulatory guidelines

Develop agreed objectives and targets inline with work plan

To lead the development of strategy and policy by providing research, needs analysis, service development and design, planning and project management expertise
