RE & PSHE Teacher - Long-Term Opportunities Across Kirklees

Passionate about helping young people explore the world around them, develop their values and prepare for life beyond the classroom?

The summer holidays may already feel like a distant memory, but the demand for talented RE and PSHE Teachers across Kirklees is already accelerating faster than it did last September.

At Hays Education, I work closely with 14 secondary schools across Huddersfield, Batley and the wider Kirklees area, and schools are already planning ahead for long-term staffing needs.

Last academic year alone, I successfully filled eight long-term RE and PSHE teaching positions across Kirklees, and with vacancy levels already increasing, I expect demand to be just as strong this year. As a result, I am keen to onboard additional high-quality RE and PSHE teachers ready for their next opportunity.

The OpportunityWe are recruiting for a range of long-term RE and PSHE teaching roles, with positions available on a full-time basis and many offering the potential to become permanent appointments.Whether you're an experienced educator or an ECT looking to build valuable classroom experience, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

Delivering engaging RE and PSHE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

Encouraging thoughtful discussion, critical thinking and respectful debate

Supporting students' personal, social and emotional development

Planning and assessing work in line with the curriculum

Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive

What We're Looking For✅ UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification✅ Experience teaching RE and/or PSHE within the last three years✅ Strong classroom management and communication skills✅ A passion for supporting student development and achievement✅ The ability to build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues
