Summary

The Advanced Clinical Nurse Practitioner will deliver highquality clinical care to patients attending Frimley Health, providing autonomous assessment, investigation, diagnosis, treatment and management across the Acute Surgical and Urology pathways. Working within the Surgical & Urology SDEC unit and participating in Surgical Emergency Team rounds, the ACNP will ensure timely senior decisionmaking and safe, effective patient flow. The postholder will prioritise patient health needs, intervene appropriately, and practise with full professional and legal accountability in line with Trust policies and the standards of their regulatory body. They will demonstrate advanced clinical reasoning, specialist knowledge at academic Level 7, and expert judgement in managing undifferentiated, differentiated and complex presentations. The ACNP will ensure patients are fully informed and that consent is obtained prior to assessment, investigation or treatment. They will take responsibility for managing their own caseload and contribute to the supervision, support and development of junior members of the multidisciplinary team. Practising across the Four Pillars of Advanced Practiceclinical practice, leadership and management, education, and researchthe ACNP will act as a clinical leader and role model. They will support service development, champion evidencebased practice, and work collaboratively with nursing, midwifery, AHP and medical colleagues to enhance patient pathways and improve outcomes.
