Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a new long-term opportunity within a supportive primary school?

 

A welcoming primary school in 

Romford is looking for a confident and experienced 

SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team for an 

immediate start on a long-term basis.

 

This is a varied SEN support role working across the school. You will 

not be allocated exclusively to one child or year group; instead, you will work flexibly with pupils who require additional support across different areas of need.

 

The Role

• Providing targeted support to pupils with a range of SEN needs

• Supporting children across different year groups and classes

• Working with pupils who have 

ASD and behavioural needs

• Helping pupils to regulate their emotions and manage challenging behaviour

• Supporting learning, communication, social development and independence

• Working closely with class teachers, the SENCO and wider support staff

• Adapting your approach according to individual pupils and their needs

• Contributing to a positive, inclusive and nurturing school environment

The Ideal Candidate

 

The school is looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience working within a 

primary school SEN setting

• Has strong, practical experience supporting children with 

ASD

• Has experience managing and responding to 

challenging behaviour

• Is confident working with a range of ages and needs

• Can build positive relationships with children who may present with complex needs

• Is calm, patient, resilient and consistent in their approach

• Can work effectively as part of a wider school team

• Is proactive and able to adapt to changing needs throughout the school day
