Information Governance Officer
Location: Home Based
Salary: £44754 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Full time - 35 hours per week/ 70 hours over two weeks (nine-day fortnight)
The role
Help us protect information, manage risk and support better services
We’re looking for an experienced Information Governance Officer to support our Information Governance Manager in ensuring tenant and organisational information is managed safely, lawfully and effectively.
You’ll provide trusted advice to colleagues and senior leaders on data protection, information governance, compliance and data breach risks, while helping develop policies and procedures in line with GDPR and the Data Use and Access Act (DUAA).
You’ll take the lead on Social Tenant Access to Information Requests (STAIRs) and Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), ensuring they are managed accurately and within statutory timescales.
You’ll also play an important role in building a strong culture of information governance through training, guidance and colleague education, while keeping up to date with emerging regulatory issues across housing, health and social care.
While the role is home based the successful candidate will be required to attend team meetings at our head office in Birmingham as required.

What we’re looking for
The essential requirements for the role include:
• Experience in managing SARs, data breaches, and information governance frameworks, including undertaking data protection audits
• Knowledge of UK GDPR, Data Protection, and DUAA legal and regulatory requirements, including compliance, monitoring, and risk mitigation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal across a variety of management levels facilitating cooperation
• Excellent IT skills: Full Microsoft Office suite
• Graduate level education and/or extensive experience in Information governance / data protection
