Summary

Key responsibilities include: Leading the development and delivery of the Trust's safeguarding strategy, policies and assurance framework. Providing expert safeguarding advice and assurance to the Trust Board, Executive Team, senior leaders and clinical services. Overseeing safeguarding arrangements across a broad agenda, including safeguarding adults and children, domestic abuse, Prevent, MAPPA, modern slavery, self-neglect and exploitation. Leading the Safeguarding Team and promoting high-quality safeguarding practice, supervision, training and continuous improvement across the organisation. Ensuring compliance with safeguarding legislation, national guidance, regulatory requirements and multi-agency safeguarding procedures. Leading organisational responses to safeguarding reviews, investigations and audits, ensuring learning is translated into meaningful improvements in practice. Developing strong partnerships with local authorities, NHS organisations, police, commissioners and other agencies to improve outcomes for vulnerable people. Monitoring safeguarding performance, identifying risks and providing assurance regarding the effectiveness of safeguarding arrangements across the Trust. This is a highly influential leadership role, requiring an experienced safeguarding professional who can drive improvement, provide expert oversight and champion a culture where safeguarding is everyone's responsibility.
