Your new school

Hays Education are working with a range of specialist and mainstream schools across Leicester and Leicestershire that support children and young people with a variety of additional needs. These settings cater for pupils with Autism (ASD), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, moderate and severe learning difficulties, communication needs, and other complex SEND requirements

Your new role

We are looking for compassionate, resilient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils on a 1:1 basis and within small groups. You will play a key role in helping young people overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence, and achieve positive outcomes both academically and socially.Key responsibilities include:

Supporting pupils with a range of SEN and additional needs.

Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation.

Assisting with classroom activities and personalised learning plans.

Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils.

Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals.

Encouraging independence, engagement and personal development.

What you'll need to succeed

Experience working with children or young people with SEN, SEMH, ASD, ADHD or complex needs.

A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach.

Strong communication and behaviour management skills.

A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners.

Experience in education, care, youth work, residential care or support work is desirable.
